Welcome to our delightful and secluded White Tail Cabin located in the middle of the beautiful Wayne National Forest. The picturesque views of Sand Run Lake and the neighboring pine forest will have you feeling like you are in another world. To escape your everyday life, visit Hocking Hills and Wayne National Forest to get a breath of fresh air and to enjoy the beautiful, calming forest. At the White Tail Cabin, you are a short drive from all the Hocking Hills State Parks and minutes from the charming town of Nelsonville.

You will follow forest covered, back roads until you reach our White Tail Cabin that is nestled next to Sand Run Lake, 18,000+ acres of Wayne National Forest, and is situated on our 7-acre property with two private ponds. You are welcomed to beautiful, picturesque views of the forest that will leave you awestruck. The White Tail Cabin is cozy, comfortable, and inviting making you feel like you are staying at a home away from home.

There are 3 spacious bedrooms that allow our guests to rest after a long day of exploring nearby state parks. The living room offers a great space for you to relax, snuggle up next to the electric fireplace, and watch some movies while enjoying a warm cup of hot coco. The absolute best features of the White Tail Cabin include all the outdoor features.

We are avid outdoor lovers, so we hope you and your guests get to spend some quality time outdoors! Sip your morning coffee off the wrap around deck while listening to the nearby nature or spend the afternoon enjoying a delicious cookout! Partake in some catch and release fishing in the private pond right in front of the cabin, the second private pond on the lower portion of the property, or at Sand Run Lake. While you are out exploring the ponds, make sure you check out the Sand Run Lake Picnic area and wander into the forest filled with pine tree.

If you have a hammock, we recommend bringing it and taking it here. The wooden swing, located by the pond, allows you to become one with nature. There is a newly renovated gravel firepit with wooden benches and Adirondack chairs for you and your guests to create memories of a lifetime around the campfire. You can end your night by relaxing and unwinding in the warm Jacuzzi. Before heading to bed, make sure you and your guests check out the gorgeous, open starry night sky because that’s not something you get to experience all the time.

A unique feature about the White Tail Cabin is that it is located in an ATV Friendly area

The Monday Creek Trail System is located 1-mile away from the cabin. Wayne National Forest offers over 75+ miles of designated trails for off-road riders. Guests can ride directly from the cabin to the nearest trailhead. If you have your own off-road vehicle, bring it to experience Wayne National Forest.

It is one of the first properties we added to our portfolio. The moment we saw the picturesque views of Sand Run Lake, the surrounding pine forest, and the two private ponds – we instantly fell in love with the property. We wanted other people to be able to experience Hocking Hills and Wayne National Forest just like we have been able to.

Here you can create the perfect intimate getaway, start a family tradition, or host a large family gathering. We completely renovated the inside of this cabin and added a wrap around deck so our guests can enjoy the spectacular views. Our 12-person Pines Lodge sits on the same 7-acre property with the White Tail Cabin.

Our 6-person Sandy Run Cabin is located just down the road. You can rent all three properties for a large group getaway! Make sure you contact us about booking all three cabins for a large group getaway!

whitetail Cabin

We had a wonderful stay at the whitetail cabin. The cabin is perfect for a private family getaway. The cabin came with full kitchen utensils and items needed for cooking and comfort. We were less then 20minutes from Hocking Hills trails. We loved that our cabin offered nearby private fun trails through the area for riding and hiking. The only complaint would be phone service. We had our Grandsons 13th Birthday Party at the White Tail, Was the perfect place for he and a few of his friends to stay , They spent the evening around a big fire at the fire pit playing in the snow, and swinging on the rope swing, This is a very lovely Cabin surrounded by the Pine Trees covered in snow, The Cabin is beautiful and met every need for us, Thank You for the perfect place to stay, Lester, Iris, Rob, and Lacey.

Whitetail Cabin

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Whitetail. The photos don't do it justice! It's simply wonderful. The location is ideal, with easy access, but still feels very secluded. When we pulled up and the kids saw the pond and swings, they gave us a thumbs up and said, "good job, parents!" Very comfortable and clean. We loved the fire pit and never heard an 'I'm bored' from the kids. The only down side to our stay was the fact that the bunk beds pictured online were not in the room. The kids were

WHITETAIL CABIN WAS BEAUTIFUL

My family stayed here over Memorial weekend and it was beautiful. We all had our own space to move around and not be on top of each other. Jennifer was wonderful and even delivered some firewood to us complete with matches and some newspapers to get it started. The property was beautiful and relaxing. It has all the comforts of home. Very relaxing to sit on the deck and just look out into nature. Hopefully we will be back soon.

Beautiful location

We stayed in the Whitetail Cabin for the weekend. The outdoor area of this cabin is perfect for fall, great fire pit area, close to the pond, beautiful view of the changing leaves. The smaller pond was covered with a thick algae and we were unable to fish in it however we were able to fish in the larger pond. The cabin itself was very clean and comfortable.

Away From It All

We loved that the cabin was off the beaten path. The park where the cabin was located was nice. The cabin had everything that we needed and was comfortable. The pond at the cabin was totally green and had the biggest bull frogs! We named one hulk, he just kinda chilled with us. The pond at the Sand Run Park had fish and we enjoyed fishing there. Pup and I had a great stay at Whitetail

Whitetail was very clean and well kept. I was looking for a place for my dog and I to have a short stay to visit Hocking Hills.. this cabin was exactly that. It was a short drive to trails and the winery. It had a great outdoor space for us to relax and enjoy the evenings. Beautiful and Peaceful

We had a great stay at the Whitetail cabin. The cabin itself was very nice and clean and accommodated our party of four easily. We did not spend much time inside, but it was well furnished and roomy enough for our needs. Outside is where this place was shined for us. There is a great 2nd floor patio/deck with great views of the forest and ponds. It is partly covered, partly open so you can enjoy both shade/cover from storms, or sunshine. We loved the firepit which is well furnished with benches and a picnic table nearby. We spent a lot of time simply enjoying the deck and firepit, and walking the grounds and fishing the pond. The location is close enough to the Hocking Hills attractions and Nelsonville. The lot itself is secluded and private. There is another cabin down the lane, but it's far enough to allow privacy. There is also a small picnic area nearby, but it was not frequented during our visit. The biggest 'annoyance' was the day they came to mow/trim around the pond and picnic area which was noisy for the hour or so they worked, but it has to happen sometime. Recommend using 278 and Dawley Rd to and from the property if traveling to or from US33 or Nelsonville in order to avoid gravel road sections on Dawley New Pittsburg Rd (where our GPS sent us) and the stretch of Dawley from 595. All in all we had a great stay and would definitely consider staying at this cabin again!
