Welcome to our Sandy Run Cabin located at the corner of a charming, quaint, ATV friendly neighborhood. Here, you are seconds away from Sand Run Lake, where you can spend time getting lost among pine trees. The cabin itself is budded up against 18,000+ acres of Wayne National Forest where our guests can explore the untouched woods. You are centrally located to all Athens, Logan, and Nelsonville which allows you to explore all of Southeast, Ohio! Our guests are minutes from Old Man’s Cave, Cedar Falls, Ash Cave, Ohio University, and countless state lakes. Come explore, experience, and enjoy the great outdoors and the beautiful rolling hills of Hocking Hills and Wayne National Forest at 1st Choice Cabin Rentals.

You will follow forest covered, back roads until you reach our Sandy Run Cabin. Upon arrival, guests are welcomed to a two-story cabin with an “Ohio” shaped firepit and spacious yard. The cabin sits on the corner of a quaint neighborhood and offers plenty of privacy for our guests. The cabin is cozy, comfortable, and inviting making you feel like you are staying at a home away from home.

There are 2 spacious bedrooms that allow our guests to rest after a long day of exploring nearby state parks. The living room offers a great space for you to relax, snuggle up next to the electric fireplace, and watch some movies. There is a fully equipped kitchen, with all the necessary amenities for a getaway to the hills!

Travel down the road to visit Sand Run Lake and our “lower pond,” both great options for catch and release fishing. Visit Sand Run Lake Picnic Area to get lost in the forest filled with pine trees. If you have a hammock, we recommend bringing it so you can fall asleep amongst the trees. The newly renovated gravel fire pit with wooden benches and tables is great for you and your guests to create memories of a lifetime around the campfire. You can end your night by relaxing and unwinding in the warm Jacuzzi. Before heading to bed, make sure you and your guests check out the beautiful starry night sky because that is not something you get to experience all the time.

The Sandy Run Cabin is near and dear to our hearts because it is one of the first properties we added to our portfolio along with the White Tail Cabin and Pines Lodge. The moment we saw the picturesque views of Sand Run Lake, the surrounding pine forest, and the two private ponds – we instantly fell in love with the property. We wanted other people to be able to experience Hocking Hills and Wayne National Forest just like we have been able to.

Here you can create the perfect intimate getaway, start a family tradition, or host a large family gathering. We completely renovated the inside of this cabin and continue to update the property so our guests can enjoy Hocking Hills like never before. Our 8-person White Tail and our 12-person Pines Lodge are located on the same 7-acre property right down the road. You can rent all three properties for a large group getaway! A unique feature about the Sandy Run Cabin is that it is located in an ATV Friendly area. The Monday Creek Trail System is located 1-mile away from the cabin. Wayne National Forest offers over 75+ miles of designated trails for off-road riders. Guests can ride directly from the cabin to the nearest trail-head. If you have your own off-road vehicle, bring it to experience Wayne National Forest.
