This luxury cottage/retreat is situated on a 20-acre property that overlooks a beautiful lake and the rolling hills of Southeastern Ohio.
If you’re looking for accommodation for up to 14 people, our Island Retreat is the perfect destination for you. You and your guests will be amazed with this three-cottage suite retreat that sits on a private 5-acre lake in Albany Ohio. The base occupancy is 10 with a max of 14 guests. The Main house is a one-story retreat with two suites within, 10-person occupancy, 3 full bathrooms, living room and kitchen areas. The Guest house offers spacious living on the second story above the garage, with a living room, open kitchen, dining area, 2 bedrooms and 1 full bathroom. The property is located just off the road of State Route 50, in a quiet setting that offers plenty of relaxation for you and your guests.
Relax and stargaze around a firepit or watch an amazing sunrise. This 5-acre lake offers some great fishing, canoeing or kayaking. Take a 45-minute drive from your cottage to visit Old Man’s Cave, Cedar Falls, Ash Cave, Rock House, Conkle’s Hollow, or Rock Bridge located in Hocking Hills State Park. No matter the season, you and your guests won’t be disappointed when visiting all the beauty that Hocking Hills offers.

The Island Retreat is located 7 miles from Athens and Ohio University. The nearby State Parks offer thousands of acres to explore by hiking, off-road vehicle riding, mountain biking, or horseback riding. Guests will want to visit Athens and Ohio University, Nelsonville’s Historic Square Arts District, Stuart’s Opera House, Hocking Valley Scenic Railway, or the Nelsonville Music Festival. If guests venture 1 mile to Lake Snowden, you can enjoy the recreation park with family and friends. Lake Hope State Park is located within Zaleski State Forest. Guests can enjoy some fine dining at Lake Hope Lodge or a day of picnicking and swimming with family and friends.
ATV enthusiasts can venture into Wayne National Forest for hundreds of riding trails; Parents and alumni can visit Ohio University; and our connoisseurs of nature MUST visit Old Man’s Cave, Conkle’s Hollow and Rock House located in the beautiful Hocking Hills, named as one of BuzzFeed’s Stunning UndertheRadar Destinations to Add to Your Bucket List.
