Welcome to our charming Blue Jay Cabin nestled on 3-private manicured acres. Follow the long gravel driveway till you reach seclusion! On one side of the Blue Jay Cabin, our guests have beautiful, picturesque mountain views. On the other side of the Blue Jay Cabin, our guests have views of a mountainside covered by forest woodland where wildlife thrives. Here, you are centrally located to all Athens, Logan, and Nelsonville which allows you to explore all of Southeast, Ohio! Our guests are minutes from Old Man’s Cave, Cedar Falls, Ash Cave, Ohio University, and countless state lakes. Come explore, experience, and enjoy the great outdoors and the beautiful rolling hills of Hocking Hills and Wayne National Forest at 1st Choice Lodging.
Guests will walk into the Blue Jay Cabin to a warm & inviting cottage with knotty pine covered walls and hardwood flooring. The best feature of the Blue Jay Cabin includes the beautiful, bright windows in the living room which allow our guests to have scenic views throughout their entire stay. Guests can enjoy home cooked meals thanks to the fully stocked kitchen & kitchen amenities OR guests can treat themselves to dinner. Travel 15 minutes down the road to some of our favorite local restaurants.

On the backside of the cottage, there is a newly renovated firepit with wooden benches.
A great space to spend quality time, roasting marshmallows, telling stories, and creating memories around a toasty warm fire. After exploring the beautiful Hocking Hills State Park, experiencing Wayne National Forest, or enjoying the finer things in this local region.
A unique feature to the Blue Jay Cabin is that it is an ATV Friendly cabin. This means that ATV enthusiasts who are visiting the area to go trail riding on Wayne National Forest can ride right from the cabin to the Dorr Run TrailHead. Wayne National Forest offers over 75 miles of designated trails for off-road riders. We have garage access so our guests can store their ATVs/UTVs. We sell Wayne National Forest 3-day and seasonal trail passes at our headquarters, where guests check-in.
When you rent the Blue Jay Cabin, you are renting a complete experience. We like to show our guests how much we appreciate them. Our guests receive a 10% discount on their next outdoor adventure at Adventure Pro Outdoors. Book a canoe, kayak, or tube rental along the scenic Hocking River or book a guided ATV/UTV tour on Wayne National Forest to experience Hocking Hills like never before.
